Sciatica is more than just back pain. It happens when the sciatic nerve — the longest nerve in your body — becomes irritated or compressed. This nerve begins in the lower spine, runs through the hips and buttocks, and travels down each leg. When pressure is placed on the nerve, it can cause a wide range of symptoms including sharp or burning pain, tingling, numbness, or even weakness in the legs or feet. Some people describe the pain as electric shocks running down the leg. In many cases, the discomfort can be so severe that sitting, standing, or walking becomes difficult.
Sciatica Treatment
in Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley

Sciatica develops for different reasons. The most common causes include spinal misalignments, herniated or bulging discs, postural imbalances, or spinal degeneration that narrows the spaces where nerves exit the spine. While some episodes may ease on their own, untreated sciatica often returns and can become more frequent or severe over time. That’s why addressing the underlying cause — not just the pain — is so important.
At 100+Living, we focus on restoring spinal alignment and posture to relieve the pressure on the sciatic nerve and prevent flare-ups from returning.
Our team is Advanced Certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), the most researched and effective chiropractic method for posture correction.
Our treatment approach may include advanced forms of traction designed specifically to reduce nerve pressure and improve spinal structure. Decompression spinal traction gently stretches the spine to create space and take pressure off irritated discs and nerves. Denneroll traction uses specialized orthotic devices to reshape spinal curves and restore healthy posture. Our unique 3-D traction technology provides a highly customized way to correct misalignments in three planes of motion, offering targeted relief and long-term correction. These methods go beyond temporary relief to help retrain your spine and reduce the chance of sciatica returning.
Care may also involve precise CBP adjustments to restore spinal alignment, Mirror Image exercises to retrain posture, and personalized coaching to improve movement and reduce everyday strain on your back.
What makes us different is our combination of experience and advanced training. We are the only clinic in the Interior of BC with Advanced Certified CBP doctors. With more than 30 years of experience, we help patients relieve pain, improve posture, and avoid unnecessary surgery whenever possible.
