My Mission to Build the Next Blue Zone: The Story Behind the 100+ Living Health Centres
By Dr. Graham Jenkins, D.C., Advanced Certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP)
When people ask how the 100+ Living Health Centres began, the truth is it started decades before the first clinic. It began on a high-school volleyball court in Northern Ontario—with a young athlete who suddenly couldn’t play.
A painful lesson that changed my life
In my final year of high school, a collision left me with searing leg pain—sciatica I didn’t have a name for at the time. Painkillers and muscle relaxants dulled it but never solved it. I lost my senior season, my scholarship hopes, and for a time, my direction.
My mother convinced me to see our small-town chiropractor. After just a few careful spinal adjustments everything changed—my pain eased for the first time in months, and so did my outlook. That visit redirected my path from dentistry to chiropractic.
After years of university, long summers landscaping to pay tuition, and graduation from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1995—where I received the Erika J. Langer Award for Research Excellence—After 2 short associateships in Hamilton Ontario, my wife and I returned home to open our first practice.
The case that defined my purpose
Our clinic flourished, but one case haunted me: my mother’s relentless migraines. Conventional chiropractic care didn’t touch them. Then, at a seminar in New York, I encountered Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP)—a model focused on spinal correction, not symptom management.
My mother became my first CBP corrective-care patient. Three months later, her migraines stopped. She has remained migraine-free for over three decades—active, medication-free, and thriving. That transformation became the cornerstone of my life’s work.
From clinical success to longevity science
Across thousands of patient stories, I’ve seen the same pattern: when you restore spinal alignment and nerve-system integrity, every other system performs better—immune, cardiovascular, cognitive, and emotional. That conviction inspired the 100+ Living Blueprint, a practical framework built on six pillars:
-
Body — Optimize structure and movement.
-
Fuel — Nourish at the cellular level.
-
Recover — Prioritize sleep and neurological reset.
-
Prevent — Stay ahead of dysfunction before symptoms appear.
-
Mind — Cultivate purpose and resilience.
-
Tribe — Build community and accountability.
These aren’t lifestyle tips; together they form a philosophy of applied longevity.
Advanced Spinal Rehabilitation: where science meets hope
At the heart of every 100+ Living Health Center is Advanced Spinal Rehabilitation—a research-driven system that combines precise CBP adjusting, decompression and 3-D static traction, mirror-image exercises, Power Plate neuromuscular retraining, and when indicated, I encourage Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to accelerate the healing process and deal with systemic inflammation.
Each patient begins with hospital-grade digital X-rays, posture digitization, HRV, O₂ saturation, spirometry, grip strength, and full-spine range-of-motion analysis. These data feed our proprietary 100+ Living Health Score, a composite of evidence-based metrics (including CBP spinal alignment standards and validated physiological norms) that quantifies how closely a person’s physiology aligns with optimal longevity potential. The score becomes a roadmap and a motivation tool—tangible proof of progress through corrective and optimization phases.
The flagship: Kelowna, British Columbia
After three decades in private practice and the last 15 years leading Lighthouse Chiropractic & Integrative Health—where I founded one of Western Canada’s only Advanced Certified CBP offices—I established the 100+ Living Health Centres to expand access to this level of care. The flagship Kelowna clinic is more than a treatment facility; it’s a training hub for the next generation of doctors and a prototype for what healthcare should look like.
Our goal is bold but realistic: help the Central Okanagan evolve into a modern Blue Zone—a region where people routinely live beyond 100 years with strength, clarity, and purpose.
Research and collaboration
Throughout my career, research has anchored my work. I’ve collaborated with Carleton University on patient communication, and the University of British Columbia on projects exploring how neurological-based chiropractic care influences immune and systemic health. Alongside this, the CBP Non-Profit foundation has contributed 300+ peer-reviewed papers advancing the spine-neurology-function connection. The evidence aligns with what we witness in clinic every day: correcting spinal structure transforms human function.
The patient journey: not for the faint of heart—meant for the fully alive
The 100+Living journey begins with a discovery call (15–20 minutes) to ensure a mutual fit. If both you and the doctor feel aligned, we schedule a comprehensive testing day. We digitize your posture, take hospital-grade X-rays, and run HRV, O₂ sat, spirometry, grip strength, and full-spine range of motion. Your results generate your 100+ Living Health Score.
Next comes your Report of Findings—ideally with your spouse or support person—where we explain what we found, how it affects your health, and whether we can help. If we can, we outline a corrective plan with clear timelines, frequency, and costs. Care plans are individualized and may include specific adjusting, mirror-image exercises (in-office and at home), and targeted traction (decompression or 3-D static traction). Progress exams re-measure the same metrics, updating your Health Score so you can see your improvement.
Our long-term aim is simple: move you through correction → rebuild → optimization → 100+ Living Care, where we maintain your gains, remove recurring interference, and harden your resilience against the lifestyle load that created the problem in the first place.
Tools that accelerate change—accessible by design
Power Plate sessions accelerate neuromuscular retraining. HBOT can support recovery and brain-body performance in select cases. Not every clinic will house a chamber, but we are committed to regional access so patients can benefit when clinically indicated. While elite athletes have had access to these tools for years, we believe everyone deserves them—if they’re willing to do the work.
Culture: certainty with compassion
Clinical excellence is nothing without authentic human care. When you walk into a 100+ Living Health Center, we want you to feel, “I’m finally in the right place.” Our standards are high and our environment is joyful, encouraging, and meticulous—because details matter when your health is on the line. We recommend the same care to you that we’d recommend to our own family.
Beyond clinics—building a movement
The 100+ Living network is designed to scale responsibly: regional clinics anchored by the Kelowna flagship, internships that elevate new graduates to CBP certification, and an advanced referral spine within each region. My vision is simple: raise a generation of doctors who take personal responsibility for outcomes and bring true corrective care to communities across North America.
A philosophy for generations
If there’s a single message I hope endures long after I’m gone, it’s this:
The human body is not broken—it’s interfered with.
Remove the interference—physically, chemically, emotionally—and the intelligence that grew you from a single cell can keep you vibrant for a century.
Health isn’t found in dependency; it’s found in design. The 100+ Living movement is about returning to rational, life-giving strategies that respect the human body and restore the brain-body connection—so grandparents and great-grandparents can play on the floor with their grandkids, hike the Okanagan, and live joyfully, drug-free, and fully alive.
